MAIRE has revealed that NextChem, operating under the auspices of Stamicarbon, a nitrogen technology licensor, has clinched a significant deal. This entails a licensing and equipment supply agreement for an advanced urea melt and granulation facility set to be established in Egypt. The project is commissioned by El-Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC). Positioned approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Cairo, this facility is slated to achieve a notable production capacity of 1,050 tons per year (tpy) of urea.

The adoption of Stamicarbon's technology marks a crucial milestone for El-Nasr Company for Intermediate Chemicals (NCIC's) urea melt and granulation plant. It brings with it a host of benefits, including process optimization, heightened operational safety, increased yield, and reduced energy consumption. This contract involves collaborating with Paul Wurth S.A., a subsidiary of the SMS group, and Norsk e-Fuel AS. The agreement pertains to a licensing and engineering design package for NX CPO. This innovative solution is intended for deployment in the inaugural industrial-scale facility capable of producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from green hydrogen and biogenic CO2 in Mosjoen, Norway.
