First Corn-Based Ethanol Plant To Be Established In Bahia

Impacto Bioenergia is a Brazilian ethanol producer that will collaborate with a US-based company, ICM, to build a corn-based Ethanol plant in the State of Bahia, situated in Brazil, with an expected Q1 2025 beginning date. The new plant will require 1700 metric tonnes of raw material, corn and is anticipated to produce 260 million litres of anhydrous ethanol per year after reaching its total production capacity. Furthermore, Impacto added that the new biorefinery would produce 9000 metric tonnes of corn oil accompanied by 185000 metric tonnes of distilled-dried-grain (DDG).

Ethanol production requires corn and sugarcane as the raw material. Bahia is one of the grain-exporting states, which incorporates the territories of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia.
