Bio-adsorbents are Cost-effective for cleaning industrial wastewater containing heavy metals

According to United Nations Environment Programme, India is going to be water stressed country. Waste water treatment and water recycling should be given importance. Recycled industrial water is used for the irrigation purpose, which leads to high concentration of metal in vegetables grown with industrial treated waste water. The cost associated with recycling of industrial waste water is high, so bio adsorbents are likely to be a cheap source for recycling of  industrial waste water. Bio adsorbents include different groups like hydroxyls and amines, these groups have a large affinity for metal ions and will help in reducing the cost and recycling of industrial waste water.
