New Delhi, India: From the last few weeks, scorching heat and peaking temperature were already distressing Indians, and then to outdo the adversary, prolonged power cuts came into play. Several cities in India have been witnessing power cuts for longer durations lately.

Following the situation, many are curious to know the reason behind these power cuts. However, the chemical world is more interested in knowing how these power cuts would impact the market of different chemicals. Many sources suggest that coal shortages and the overconsumption of electricity amidst record high temperatures are the answers to the first question.

ChemAnalyst Experts had to dig a little deeper to answer the latter one. Hence, they spoke with several manufacturers and traders about the chemicals that might get affected due to the same.

Manufacturers confirmed that the market for Carboxymethyl Cellulose (food grade), a crucial category of Cellulose Ether, might be affected due to the country's soaring rate of power cuts.

Currently, the market for frozen foods has been showing negative market sentiments as small and mid-sized retailers are not buying frozen food items because of not having any power backup. The frozen food industry primarily uses Carboxymethyl Cellulose as a significant food additive. Hence, the sluggish demand for frozen food might also hurt the Cellulose Ether market.

According to ChemAnalyst, "If the power cuts continue for a few more weeks, followed by bearish demand for frozen food, there is a slight chance that the Cellulose ether market, especially the Carboxymethyl Cellulose food-grade market, might get impacted. However, the market for other grades such as the construction grade is more likely to keep flourishing."

The future trend of the Cellulose Ether food-grade market appears to be vague and uncertain. We might get a clearer insight into the same in the coming days. Stay with us to get future updates on the Cellulose Ether market.
