Wood Plc, a renowned leader in consulting and engineering services, has been entrusted by Celltrion, a prominent biopharmaceutical company, to spearhead the expansion of its Songdo biopharma manufacturing hub in Incheon, South Korea. This partnership entails Wood providing comprehensive engineering design services for a new facility poised to significantly augment the manufacturing capacity of biological medicines by an impressive eight million liquid vials per annum. This strategic endeavor aims to address the surging global demand for biopharmaceutical drug products.
By leveraging Wood's unparalleled process engineering design capabilities, Celltrion seeks to fortify its product pipeline and secure enhanced manufacturing capacity. Wood's expertise is anticipated to play a pivotal role in optimizing production efficiency for Celltrion, consequently minimizing downtime associated with transitioning equipment between different product lines. The ultimate objective is to achieve operational cost savings while bolstering manufacturing capabilities.
