Vedanta is planning to invest USD8 billion to expand its production capacity over next three years which includes expansion of oil and aluminum by 500,000 barrels and 1 MT respectively. Zinc capacity is also set to increase by 800,000 tonnes. Income is projected to be around USD25 billion over this investment period.

The company plans to expand the capacity of newly acquired Electrosteel to 2.5 million as India’s steel demand is 300 million tonnes and it is currently producing only 70 MT.
