US Guar Gum Market Opens 2026 with a Calm Increase of 0.7% Amid Steady Inventories

Charles Dickens 27-Jan-2026

The US import market of Guar Gum has entered the year 2026 with the calm increase of 0.73% after the volatile final quarter of year 2025. The market of Guar Gum has normalized in January as the buyers and sellers have adjusted to predictable trade conditions and stable supply availability. The turbulent previous quarter has encouraged the US importers of Guar Gum to strengthen their inventory position towards the year-end. The maintained buffer stocks have shaped the early market behaviour of the new year 2026 which also market the start of new quarter. The procurement in January has shifted from urgency driven purchases to a more measured and strategic replenishment due to sufficient stock availability. The change in buyer behaviour has helped cool volatility and limit price fluctuations even after the steady demand from food, pharmaceuticals and personal care sectors. The stakeholders of Guar Gum should track logistics indicators and remain alert to policy changes which can quickly alter the import volumes.

Selenis has effectively manufactured recycled PET chips using terephthalic acid sourced from Circ®, a textile-to-textile recycler based in Virginia. The chip production took place through a series of batches at Selenis' pilot plant in San-Giorgio, Italy. By utilizing inputs recovered from polycotton textile waste, Selenis has created high-quality PET chip, which has been further processed into DTY yarn. This yarn will play a crucial role in product development as Circ prepares for additional capsule launches. Selenis is leveraging the success of this initial collaboration phase and is committed to advancing towards an offtake partnership to support Circ's inaugural industrial facility. Eduardo Santos, Head of Corporate Strategy at Selenis, remarked that the monomer synthesis showed a performance comparable to virgin terephthalic acid. He expressed optimism about the consistent quality of Circ's monomer output and anticipated future commercial success. Santos pointed out that the Circ partnership complements Selenis's existing mission and goals for a more sustainable textile industry. He further stated their anticipation of expanding upon this collaboration and providing support for Circ's forthcoming commercial production trials.
