Tetrasodium EDTA price has fallen in the United States in the last couple of months. The price of Tetrasodium EDTA in the United States as of May 2023 has fallen approximately 8% from its peak in January 2023. According to market fundamentals, the decrease in Tetrasodium EDTA prices was mainly driven by weak domestic demand, the continuation of geopolitical tensions, and an increase in supply. The United States market has gained strength due to the decrease in imports from China, one of the major exporters, which further decreased the production of the exporting countries.

There was an increase in the supply of Tetrasodium EDTA in the United States, resulting in a decrease in product prices. Existing manufacturers increased their production of Tetrasodium EDTA. Some manufacturers, suppliers, and industry professionals reduced their Tetrasodium EDTA prices to destock their inventories. Such price trends contributed to decreased trade, resulting in ship storage and irregular exports.

The supply has risen in recent months due to the increased competition in the Tetrasodium EDTA market. This also leads to lower prices since generic manufacturers are able to produce Tetrasodium EDTA at a much lower price point than the brand-name producers. This leads to lower regional prices of several pharmaceutical end-products and drugs, including Tetrasodium EDTA. Traders and suppliers also had to adjust their profit margins by reducing the prices of the accumulated Tetrasodium EDTA inventories as local market demand did not meet expectations compared to prior months.

Tetrasodium EDTA prices are also affected by raw material Formaldehyde prices. The global production of Formaldehyde has increased in recent months, which has led to an increase in the supply of the product in the market. This, in turn, has put downward pressure on prices. Also, the demand for Formaldehyde in the United States has been weak in recent months. This is due to several factors, including the ongoing trade war between the United States and China, which has decreased demand for many industrial products.

New API production facilities are being built, such as a new Texas refinery facility and a Louisiana petrochemical plant. In addition, many existing API manufacturing facilities have ramped up their production in recent months as demand for API increased. The global economy has been slowing down in the last few months, resulting in lower demand for API. Crude oil prices have fallen in the last couple of months, making API products less attractive to buyers. The trade dispute between the United States and China has also harmed global demand, resulting in lower sales of API products. The United States dollar has also strengthened against other currencies, resulting in higher prices for API products for buyers in foreign countries.

As per the ChemAnalyst anticipation, " the prices of Tetrasodium EDTA prices are likely to further depreciate in the upcoming months. Lowering raw material Formaldehyde prices and high inventories among the merchants are likely to keep the market feeble".
