US Isopropyl Alcohol prices strengthened in early July 2026 after several weeks of weakness during June, supported by temporary production disruptions on the US Gulf Coast and improving spot demand. Earlier declines in Isopropyl Alcohol values were driven by comfortable inventories and softer buying interest, but market sentiment shifted as outages reduced prompt availability and encouraged inventory replenishment. Demand for Isopropyl Alcohol remained healthy from industrial coatings, printing inks, and electronics cleaning sectors, supported by stronger US manufacturing activity. Additional export inquiries from Latin American buyers also contributed to firmer market conditions. On the supply side, Gulf Coast production interruptions, combined with rail congestion around Houston, tightened Isopropyl Alcohol availability and supported higher spot offers. Weekly assessments showed Isopropyl Alcohol FOB Texas prices rising 3.5% week-on-week to USD 1,480/MT after reaching a low near USD 1,430/MT in late June. The rebound was primarily linked to temporary supply constraints rather than sustained structural tightness. Looking forward, Isopropyl Alcohol prices are expected to face downward pressure later in July as production resumes and feedstock costs soften. However, hurricane-related disruptions, logistics challenges, and export demand could continue influencing market direction.

Selenis has effectively manufactured recycled PET chips using terephthalic acid sourced from Circ®, a textile-to-textile recycler based in Virginia. The chip production took place through a series of batches at Selenis' pilot plant in San-Giorgio, Italy. By utilizing inputs recovered from polycotton textile waste, Selenis has created high-quality PET chip, which has been further processed into DTY yarn. This yarn will play a crucial role in product development as Circ prepares for additional capsule launches. Selenis is leveraging the success of this initial collaboration phase and is committed to advancing towards an offtake partnership to support Circ's inaugural industrial facility. Eduardo Santos, Head of Corporate Strategy at Selenis, remarked that the monomer synthesis showed a performance comparable to virgin terephthalic acid. He expressed optimism about the consistent quality of Circ's monomer output and anticipated future commercial success. Santos pointed out that the Circ partnership complements Selenis's existing mission and goals for a more sustainable textile industry. He further stated their anticipation of expanding upon this collaboration and providing support for Circ's forthcoming commercial production trials.
