Shanghai, China: The changing scenario in the feedstock Wood Pulp market stabilized the Viscose Staple Fibre prices. This week's demand was muted by surplus inventories, low offtakes, and disrupted supply. But growing awareness of sustainable products and shifting consumers' perceptions towards fashion will tremendously enlighten the Viscose Staple Fiber market.

Viscose Staple Fibre is divided into two categories: woven and non-woven fabrics; combined with rising hygiene concerns, it has fuelled demand for non-woven items like surgical caps, surgical masks, wipes, and hygiene products, mainly in the healthcare sector. The global demand for textile products was weak in the Chinese market, foreseeing the Covid-19 restrictions imposed in the country. Wood Pulp prices varied last week with the normal operating rate of the Viscose Staple Fibre plant.

Furthermore, a supplier from the Grasim industry, the primary producer of Viscose Staple Fiber, quoted, "Viscose is gaining tremendous demand owing to the above fifty percent less consumption of water by the pulp and fiber, and its re-usage of extracted material has increased its demand owing to the more sustainable and eco-friendlier quality." Grasim industry also reported a net profit of 55% in its Q4FY2022. Its recently commissioned 600-TPD brownfield plant at Vilayat contributed 32,000 tonnes to sales volume and operated at 83% of capacity.

As reported by the Aditya Birla group, "Grasim is increasing its production capacity to 1,332 million litres per annum (MLPA) which will start operating by Q4FY24".

As a result, we anticipated that the driving force behind the Viscose Staple Fiber market had been its high demand from healthcare and textile industries and rising alertness to encourage eco-conscious shopping habits and promote sustainable fashion, which is booming its market.

According to ChemAnalyst prediction, "The Viscose Staple Fiber Market is predicted to grow due to shifting fashion trends and easing market activity in China amidst the peak summer season, which may boost the demand for this product."
