Reliance Industries to Undertake Maintenance Turnaround by the End of July

Reliance Industries, company with the largest refining complex in the world, has reported to undertake maintenance turnaround at its crude distillation unit in Jamnagar. The company on Friday declared that it will be shutting down its plants for a span of up to 4 weeks beginning from the last week of July. Whereas other units apart from the Jamnagar refining plants will be operated without any disruption. Manufacturing division in Jamnagar contains crude processing capacity of around 1.24 million bpsd (barrels per stream day). The complex incorporates some of the largest in-house units such as Refinery off gas cracker, Fluidized Catalytic Cracker (FCC), Paraxylene, Coker, Alkylation, Propylene and Petcoke gasification plants. The 2 crude refineries in Jamnagar encompasses huge share of the exported fuel from India. According to the analysts, the temporary turnaround at Reliance Industries is anticipated to widen the profit margins of the competitors as they can now operate their plants at full capacities to fulfil the demand and supply gap caused by the turnaround in the largest refining complexes around the world.
