Toronto [Canada]:  Nevada Zinc Corporation has achieved a significant milestone in its Zinc Sulfate production initiative. From its pilot plant project, the company has effectively created and produced high-quality Zinc Sulfate monohydrate. Initially, the initiative began as a bench scale test in March 2021, but the continuous production of the micronutrient fertilizer has now been achieved.

The pilot plant project is being conducted by Hazen Research Inc., using sample material provided by the company's Lone Mountain property located in central Nevada. Readily available equipment can be used to scale up the multiphase pilot plant project to meet the company's projected production levels. This development is expected to boost the company's Zinc Sulfate production capacity.

Team has achieved a significant breakthrough in our efforts to produce commercial-grade Zinc Sulfate monohydrate on a pilot plant scale. This success has been the primary objective since the completion of highly successful bench-scale testing by Hazen in Q3 2021. With our conceptual technological approach in place, the focus was on transforming this concept into a commercially viable product. After extensive testing and numerous hydrometallurgical experiments, a critical milestone in designing a sustainable process that produces naturally sourced and traceable high-grade Zinc Sulfate products suitable for the US agricultural and animal feed markets.

The Company, Hazen, is in the process of conducting an economic evaluation of its pilot plant process. The main objective is to estimate the operating and capital costs needed for a commercial scale plant that can process 500 tonnes per day of open pit ore sourced from the Lone Mountain deposit. The evaluation will be presented in a final report which will include process flow diagrams and an economic assessment of the project. This report will later be reviewed, as defined by NI 43-101, and is expected to be completed by April 2023.
