Mysore Ammonia Goes for Maintenance Shutdown

Mysore Ammonia, a renowned manufacturer and exporter of Ammonia in India has reported a shutdown of its Ammonia plant located at Taloja, Maharashtra. Plant is on a shut-down since last week on account of maintenance and is likely to remain shut for a few more days till proper functioning of the plant is achieved. The company has five refilling and manufacturing plants in India along with one plant facility located in Sri Lanka.  Overall production capacity for Mysore Ammonia is over 3000 MT per month of Liquid/Solution Ammonia. Ammonia is being manufactured by several big players in India such as GNFC (Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers and Chemicals), KRIBHCO (Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited), RFCL (Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited) etc. As Ammonia is utilized in applications like manufacturing, fermentation, refrigeration, metallurgy among others, production cut from Mysore Ammonia is anticipated to lead to a shortage of the product in certain regions, thereby influencing its domestic prices.
