The n-propanol market in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, encompassing China, India, and South Korea, has shown a mixed pattern over the past two weeks, driven by shifting demand dynamics and supply limitations.

In China's n-propanol market demonstrated resilience with prices in the past weeks, driven by consistent demand across various key downstream sectors, including paints, coatings, and automotive industries. The minimal shift in demand and supply stayed steady with calm market news on N-propanol. Towards the end of February, the n-propanol market slightly adjusted its operation, with some suppliers reducing the market price of n-propanol narrowly. Further, the price stability also indicates manufacturers cautious approach to inventory management strategies in response to the market. Manufacturing production remained consistent amid steady new business inflows. As a result, purchasing activity and inventory levels both remained constant. Business sentiment also improved in the past few weeks, though firms remained cautious with hiring as employment levels fell at a fast pace.

On the other hand, the Indian market saw growth in the n-propanol price trend on 21st Feb by around 2.44% but remained constant for the last week. The incoming new orders in the domestic markets are limited, led to stabilised domestic demands resulting in the stability in prices which also indicates muted trading activities in the n-propanol market. Supply chain remains unaffected as firms are successful in their efforts to lift inventories as suppliers were able to deliver materials in a timely manner.

The prices of N-propanol remained stable in the past weeks due to the sufficient availability of the raw material in the market and weak demand in the Korean market in past weeks. However, the manufacturing sector had seen a continued improvement since the beginning of 2025 as the manufacturing index of south Korea shows an upward trend indicating expansion in the domestic economy despite the reduction in the employment levels. Although, the feedstock ethylene prices have shown some price surge in the domestic market, the cost of N-propanol remained constant. The increase in buying levels was modest but the stock of purchases is also raised which indicates improvement in production demands this period.

Looking ahead, n-propanol prices in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region are expected to face mixed trends due to several key influencing factors, prices are likely to maintain their current levels, with some upward pressure possible in the coming weeks. However, any further disruptions in the global supply chain or raw material shortages could lead to supply tightening, potentially driving prices higher.
