Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. (MGC; headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Masashi Fujii) has made the decision to enlarge the Texas Plant of MGC Pure Chemicals America, Inc., a subsidiary tasked with manufacturing and distributing highly purified hydrogen peroxide and ammonium hydroxide essential for the semiconductor manufacturing process.Utilizing its advanced manufacturing facilities for ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide and ultra-pure ammonium hydroxide, both domestically and internationally, alongside a top-tier analysis and quality assurance framework, the Group has effectively broadened its operations, securing the leading market share worldwide. Additionally, MGC is diversifying its portfolio to include other functional chemicals essential in semiconductor manufacturing, meeting the high demand from its clientele.

Ultra-pure hydrogen peroxide and ultra-pure ammonium hydroxide serve primarily as cleaning, etching, and abrading agents in the semiconductor wafer and device manufacturing processes. The trend towards increased miniaturization of semiconductors in recent years has resulted in a heightened demand for higher-quality chemical solutions. Furthermore, the semiconductor market is expected to witness sustained growth in the long run, driven by advancements in IoT and AI technologies expanding the scope of semiconductor applications.

In light of these developments, MPCA, renowned for possessing the largest supply capacity in North America, is facing escalating demand from major clients establishing cutting-edge facilities. These clients seek solutions to mitigate supply risks and ensure a consistent provision of high-quality products.

In preparation for the expansion of the Texas plant, MPCA is presently in the process of enlarging its Oregon facility. By boosting production capacity in North America to align with customer and market demands, MPCA aims to foster the continued expansion of the semiconductor industry. Additionally, MPCA strives to advance its position as a key player in electronic industrial chemicals, essential for semiconductor manufacturing.

In 1971, Mitsubishi Gas Chemical was established as a result of a merger between two manufacturers, each prioritizing their unique technologies, a practice that was uncommon in the industry during that period. This merger included Mizushima Petroleum Chemical Co., Ltd. and led to the establishment of Japan Saudi Arabia Methanol Co., Inc. Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. is involved in the manufacturing and distribution of an extensive array of products, ranging from organic and inorganic chemicals, petroleum-derived chemicals, chemical fertilizers, agricultural chemicals, feeds, and feed additives, to synthetic resins, synthetic rubber, high-molecular polymers, dyes, pigments, paints, adhesives, pharmaceutical products, quasi-drugs, biochemical products, food, and food additives. Additionally, the company produces detergents, bleaches, gas absorbers, materials, and elements utilized in civil engineering, construction, agriculture, fisheries, distribution industry, electric appliances, and equipment. Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company, Inc. also manufactures ceramic products, information devices, components, apparatus, and all other products related to the aforementioned materials and products.
