L&T Breaks Records with Delivery of Massive Ethylene Oxide Reactor to China

Larsen & Toubro's (L&T) Heavy Engineering division has shipped two enormous Ethylene Oxide (EO) Reactors for a project undertaken by the renowned chemical company BASF in China. These reactors were dispatched from L&T's A M Naik Heavy Engineering Complex located in Hazira, Gujarat.

Each weighing 1,136 metric tons, these EO Reactors stand as the heaviest globally, utilizing BASF's cutting-edge technology. Their production incorporates advanced engineering, Industry 4.0 manufacturing techniques, and top-tier quality protocols. The EO Reactor plays a vital role in petrochemical facilities, enabling the catalytic transformation of ethylene into ethylene oxide, a pivotal precursor in the synthesis of diverse downstream chemicals.

In response, Mr. Anil V Parab, Whole-time Director & Senior Executive Vice President of L&T Heavy Engineering & L&T Valves, expressed gratitude to BASF for entrusting L&T with the supply of crucial reactors for its esteemed project. He emphasized that dispatching the reactors was a source of immense pride for L&T. He further reiterated L&T's unwavering commitment to delivering dependable performance and exceptional customer service to all clients, maintaining their benchmarked delivery standards despite uncertainties in the global supply chain.

They are crucial components for the petrochemical project at Verbund in Zhanjiang, aimed at bolstering the chemical market in China.
