Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD Group), a distinguished operator of integrated and purpose-built economic zones, has embarked on a significant milestone through its collaboration with Kings Aluminium Industries—the initiation of the construction phase for an innovative aluminium manufacturing and recycling facility within the KEZAD framework.

In a notable commitment of AED 750 million, Kings Aluminium Industries is steering the establishment of this cutting-edge facility in KEZAD, spanning an expansive 100,000 square meters of land secured through a 50-year lease from KEZAD Group. The raw materials for this ambitious venture will be sourced from Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), a pivotal anchor tenant in the Metals sector of KEZAD Group, currently operating the largest aluminium smelter in the KEZAD region.

This strategic collaboration with Kings Aluminium Industries represents a transformative leap in the UAE's commitment to localizing manufacturing across diverse supply chains, harnessing local raw materials, advancing environmental sustainability in production, and championing the principles of the circular economy.

The advanced facility is designed to convert virgin aluminium and aluminium waste into high-quality reusable materials, effectively mitigating the carbon footprint associated with aluminium production. Positioned strategically along the hot metal road in KEZAD, adjacent to the Emirates Global Aluminium plant, Kings Aluminium will deploy cutting-edge manufacturing and recycling technology to process molten aluminium metal and billets efficiently, while repurposing various aluminium waste products.

Albert Melkias, CEO of Kings Aluminium Industries, emphasized the importance of this initiative, expressing that their new facility represents not only an investment in sustainable manufacturing but also a commitment to Abu Dhabi's environmental goals. He highlighted their dedication to pioneering solutions for a more sustainable future, with the objective of reducing waste, promoting recycling, and delivering high-quality products across various end-use categories. According to him, KEZAD provides them with unmatched value through top-notch infrastructure, fully serviced industrial corridors, and seamless integration with Khalifa Port. This, in turn, enhances their reach and speed to international consumer markets. He pointed out that signature assets like KEZAD’s hot metal road offer advantages such as energy conservation, improved product quality, cost efficiency, and better integration in production processes.

This visionary project not only sets a new standard for sustainable industrial practices in the UAE but also serves as an exemplary model for other companies within the sector to emulate. The collaborative efforts between KEZAD Group and Kings Aluminium Industries reinforce the region's commitment to fostering innovation, environmental stewardship, and economic resilience in the evolving landscape of industrial development. As the UAE continues to position itself as a global leader in sustainable practices, this venture stands as a testament to the nation's dedication to sustainable economic growth, environmental stewardship, and technological innovation.
