Dentis, an Italian PET recycling company located in Sant’Albano Stura, is currently in the process of significantly expanding its recycling capacity at its facility in Piedmont. The expansion aims to accommodate an annual processing capacity of approximately 130,000 metric tons of post-consumer PET bottles. Dentis anticipates that this expansion project will reach completion sometime in the year 2024.

This ambitious undertaking took its initial steps in 2021 when Dentis made a strategic move by acquiring two recoSTAR PET 330 HC iV+ recycling systems, manufactured by Starlinger, a renowned company based in Vienna. These state-of-the-art recycling systems are instrumental in the transformation of post-consumer PET bottles into high-quality food-grade rPET (recycled PET) pellets. The resultant rPET pellets are subsequently marketed and sold by Dentis under the brand name "Repeter," signifying their commitment to producing recycled materials of exceptional quality.

The commissioning of these recycling lines, boasting a combined annual output capacity of 50,000 metric tons, took place during the summer of 2022. This significant milestone marked Dentis' capability to effectively and efficiently convert post-use PET bottles into rPET pellets suitable for use in food-grade applications. The "Repeter" brand has become synonymous with Dentis' dedication to delivering recycled materials that meet stringent quality standards, particularly for applications in the food industry.

In addition to the production of high-quality rPET pellets, Dentis also engages in the manufacture of rPET bottle flakes, which are marketed under the brand name "Petalo." These rPET bottle flakes represent yet another facet of Dentis' commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible recycling practices within the PET recycling landscape.

The expansion of Dentis' PET recycling capacity serves as a testament to the growing demand and importance of recycling within the plastics industry. With a substantial increase in processing capabilities, Dentis is poised to contribute significantly to the circular economy by diverting a larger volume of post-consumer PET bottles away from landfills and incineration towards responsible recycling and the creation of valuable recycled materials.

The recycling of PET, a commonly used plastic material found in various packaging applications, is crucial in mitigating the environmental impact associated with single-use plastics. By recycling PET bottles and converting them into high-quality rPET pellets, Dentis not only reduces the environmental footprint but also supports the development of a sustainable supply chain for recycled materials.

The Repeter brand, representing Dentis' food-grade rPET pellets, is positioned to meet the rigorous requirements and standards of the food industry. As sustainability and responsible sourcing gain prominence in the food and beverage sector, the availability of high-quality recycled materials like Repeter becomes increasingly essential. Dentis' commitment to producing food-grade rPET from post-consumer PET bottles addresses the growing demand for eco-friendly packaging solutions while promoting the efficient use of resources.

Furthermore, Dentis' production of rPET bottle flakes under the Petalo brand reinforces the company's comprehensive approach to PET recycling. These flakes are versatile and can find application in various industries, including textiles, automotive, and consumer goods. By offering a range of recycled PET products, Dentis contributes to the diversification of sustainable material options in the market.
