Fluor Triumphs: Fluor Achieves Major Milestone in the LNG Canada Project

Canada: With the conclusion of the module fabrication program for the LNG Canada project, which is in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada, The Fluor Corporation has successfully reached a critical milestone. This milestone was marked by the arrival of the final module, transported by ship from the company's fabrication yard in Zhuhai, China. With this, a crucial stage towards building a sizable terminal for the liquefaction, storage, and loading of LNG for export to international markets has been completed.

LNG is crucial to the energy transition since it replaces energy sources with a greater carbon content. Engineering, procurement, module fabrication and delivery, project infrastructure and utilities, marine structures, and an LNG storage tank are just a few of the services that Fluor and its joint venture partner JGC Corporation are providing for the LNG Canada project.

In March 2022, a substantial module that stood at 145 feet in height and tipped the scales at over 5000 tons was transported. 215 different-sized modules have been delivered overall and are now being installed at the project site. The last module arrived early yesterday.

For the LNG Canada Project, completing the module fabrication program is a significant accomplishment, according to Pierre Bechelany, head of Fluor's LNG business. Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and Korea Gas Corporation are partners in the LNG Canada joint venture. The project's initial LNG production capacity will be 14 million tpy. Midway through the decade will see the first LNG cargo.
