Throughout February 2024, the price of electronic grade Silane remained weak in the Global market, contrasting with the coating grade, which showed some improvement. Europe electronics production experienced a decline in February, following a stabilization at the beginning of the year. This decline of Silane was attributed to firms working through their outstanding orders amid reduced demand. While the pace of order depletion accelerated from January, it remained slower compared to the average over the current period of backlog reduction.

The weak pricing of electronic grade Silane in the European market suggests a challenging environment, possibly influenced by broader economic factors impacting the electronics industry. The improvement in the coating grade indicates a more favourable market condition for this specific application. The global decline in electronics production reflects a broader trend of fluctuating demand and production levels, which can have implications for suppliers of electronic components and materials. In the middle of Q1 2024, the price of Silane electronic grade settled by 9% depreciation, according to ChemAnalyst.

In February, new orders for Silane from customers declined due to subdued economic conditions, leading to firms focusing on fulfilling existing orders rather than receiving new ones. This trend continued from January, as companies worked through their outstanding orders amidst reduced demand. Although the pace of order fulfilment accelerated compared to January, it remained slower than the average over the current period of backlog reduction.

The decline in Silane fresh orders reflects a cautious approach from customers, likely influenced by factors such as economic uncertainty and market volatility. Firms focus on clearing existing orders indicates a strategy to manage inventory and optimize production levels in response to the challenging market conditions. The slower pace of backlog reduction suggests that while firms are working through their orders, they are doing so at a measured pace, possibly to align with demand and avoid overproduction. This approach highlights the importance of agility and adaptability in navigating uncertain economic environments, allowing companies to maintain stability and resilience in their operations.

According to ChemAnalyst, the cost of Silane electronic grade is expected to stabilize in the coming months following a period of decline in the European region. This stabilization is attributed to low demand from overseas markets, leading manufacturers in Europe to potentially reduce the operation rate of Silane production according to February pricing data. Additionally, the conflicts in the Red Sea are dampening trading activities from Europe to Asian countries, further impacting the market dynamics for Silane.
