Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer prices soaring due to Global supply disruption

As per the recent analysis by ChemAnalyst, global Ethylene Acrylic Acid Copolymer prices have witnessed a steep rise during the past few months, owing to rising input costs amidst supply disruption across the global market.

The Chinese market has witnessed a significant price increment of around 5.5% till the mid of May, while projecting another hike of a similar extent.

Since the Russia Ukraine war has started, global market dynamics have witnessed steep price escalation for several commodities, including a common upstream crude oil, which has not been a declined since then. Furthermore, domestic trade disturbance due to the ongoing epidemic crisis also influenced the pricing dynamics in the country, while traders and producers faced difficulties in procuring cargoes.

China has been battling the worst hit of the pandemic since 2020, where millions of people are under stringent lockdown restrictions. At the same time, traders and manufacturers have been anxious about future trade activities, as the country’s zero covid policies came out to be disrupting on multiple occasions.

On the other side, as per the data, other countries in Asia like Indonesia and India have also confronted to such kind of price increments recently.

ChemAnalyst data revealed the current pricing dynamics of Ethylene Acrylic Acid in India, where an increment of around 5.6% was observed for a special grade, i.e., Escort 6000 by ExxonMobil. As per the recent insights, imported cargoes are getting expensive week over a week under the influence of ongoing disruption in the European market due to the Russia Ukraine war.

Similar market sentiments have also been observed in the Indonesian market, as the demand for the product remained supporting to uptrend, while expensive imports were pressuring domestic market fundamentals. In addition, prolonged inflationary pressure in the domestic market also remained a major factor behind these price revisions in the country.
