Eletrobras Teams Up with Prumo for Green Hydrogen Initiative at Brazilian Port

Eletrobras announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Prumo Logística during the Hydrogen Expo South America in Rio de Janeiro. The agreement aims to assess the feasibility of implementing low-carbon projects at the Port of Açu, developed by Prumo Logística, situated in the northern region of Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The focus will be on the production of renewable hydrogen and its derivatives.

The agreement will assess the technical, environmental, and economic viability of establishing the plant. It will also explore the allocation of resources for research and development, as well as public and private financing options, aimed at promoting associated projects. These efforts will contribute to bolstering the green economy and enhancing energy security.
