Egypt's Town Gas Secures Major Contracts for Gas Projects in Romania

During the Egyptian-Romanian Joint Committee and Business Forum held in Bucharest, Town Gas, a prominent player in Egypt's oil and gas sector, secured contracts for the local manufacturing of natural gas pressure reduction stations in Egypt, according to the several media reports. In addition, the company has committed to supplying natural gas to residential areas and various facilities in Romania. This development marks a significant milestone as Town Gas, a subsidiary of Egypt's petroleum sector, has become the first Egyptian firm accredited by the Romanian National Regulatory Authority (ANRE) to undertake natural gas supply projects in Europe.

The signing ceremony for these contracts was attended by key dignitaries, including Rania Al-Mashat, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation; Stefan Radu, the Romanian Minister of Economy; and Yasseen Mohamed, the Executive Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), who represented Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi.

In his remarks at the Egypt-Romania business forum, Mohamed emphasized the advancements in natural gas cooperation between the two nations. He underscored the strategic partnership developed over time, rooted in strong bilateral relations and the extensive expertise of Egyptian natural gas companies. This expertise, coupled with a skilled workforce, positions Egyptian firms as ideal partners for executing residential gas connection projects in international markets.

The contracts signify not only a collaboration between Egypt and Romania but also the potential for enhanced energy security and infrastructure development in both countries.
