Spain's DNCB market rose markedly in March as origin-led repricing and seasonal buying tightened spot availability. Buyers stepped up inquiries ahead of the Q2 coatings and dye cycle, while mid-month production shifts in India and export offers from China reduced prompt availability. Late-month stock drawdowns supported restocking. The market shifted to a bullish stance as buyers accepted origin-driven price increases and sought to secure volumes for the spring-summer build-up. Demand from dyes and textiles remained the key driver, with coatings, dye production, and textile finishing fueling the Q2 push; Catalan dye producers entered spring build-up targeting the export window. Pharmaceutical intermediates remained flat, exerting limited downward pressure, while rubber and automotive formulators provided modest support. Upstream factors—rising chlorobenzene contract levels and electricity input costs in China—lifted export offers, and Indian producers redirected reactors to pharma intermediates, tightening March loadings. Analysts foresee continued gains in the near term with single-digit increases through spring and mid-summer pullback before a rebound into autumn.
