British-Dutch oil and gas giant Royal Dutch Shell Plc has recently announced temporary suspension of its construction activities on a multi-billion-dollar ethane cracker being constructed along the Ohio River in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. As per the company officials, this happened amid growing concerns about spreading of coronavirus after WHO declared the outbreak a “pandemic” last week. As per the local officials, the halt in construction activities is a measure to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, as large number of workers are currently employed for the project. The company is planning to install additional mitigation measures aligned with CDC guidance.
