Chambal Fertilizer and Chemicals Limited (CFCL), one of the front-runners in Bulk Chemical & Fertilizer industry already having two Ammonia plants at Gadepan in Kota, Rajasthan, has successfully commissioned a third plant at the same location with an installed capacity of 650 KT in last week of April 2020. The plant has been designed by KBR, Inc. (USA) with the technology license being awarded to the same company. KBC has been a licensor and EPC contractor for over 243 Ammonia plants globally. The Gadepan III Ammonia plant features efficient Purifier technology, gas turbine driven air compressors and aMDEA based CO2 removal process. The Gadepan III unit is proclaimed to be world’s most energy efficient Ammonia plant which achieved energy consumption lower than 6.417 Gcal per metric tonne during its test run phase. With the commissioning of this unit, the total Ammonia capacity of the company stands at 1690 KT in the country. The company also has Urea plants at Gadepan units, designed by KBR and Toyo Engineering Corporation (Japan), being the largest urea production site at one place in the country. Chambal Fertilizers is targeting to increase its market share in the country in the fertilizer market in the country and is aggressively pursuing expansions and debottlenecking at its units.
