Calcium Powder Market in the US Diverges Amid Strategic Procurement in December 2025

William Shakespeare 23-Dec-2025

The Calcium Powder market of the US has observed the diverged trend across the two major food-grade variants of Calcium Carbonate and Calcium Citrate in December of 2025. The different in the price fluctuation has reflected the separate supply chain and buyer strategy that has reshaped the prices of Calcium Powder. The Calcium Powder is used in nutrition, food and pharmaceutical formulations but the unconnected markets of the grades have resulted in contrasting market fluctuation. The import market of Calcium Citrate has observed a rebound after the weak procurement in November. The downstream buyers have entered the market with urgency that followed the deferred procurement of the previous month. The export market of Calcium Carbonate of the US has experienced a decline in the prices due to maintained inventory covers which reduced the immediate procurement interest. The market specific inventory management and timing of the procurement has resulted in the different price variation. The strategic pricing decision of the suppliers and measured procurement behaviour will synchronize and stabilize the Calcium Powder market in early 2026.

Selenis has effectively manufactured recycled PET chips using terephthalic acid sourced from Circ®, a textile-to-textile recycler based in Virginia. The chip production took place through a series of batches at Selenis' pilot plant in San-Giorgio, Italy. By utilizing inputs recovered from polycotton textile waste, Selenis has created high-quality PET chip, which has been further processed into DTY yarn. This yarn will play a crucial role in product development as Circ prepares for additional capsule launches. Selenis is leveraging the success of this initial collaboration phase and is committed to advancing towards an offtake partnership to support Circ's inaugural industrial facility. Eduardo Santos, Head of Corporate Strategy at Selenis, remarked that the monomer synthesis showed a performance comparable to virgin terephthalic acid. He expressed optimism about the consistent quality of Circ's monomer output and anticipated future commercial success. Santos pointed out that the Circ partnership complements Selenis's existing mission and goals for a more sustainable textile industry. He further stated their anticipation of expanding upon this collaboration and providing support for Circ's forthcoming commercial production trials.
