Arizona Lithium has reached a significant milestone in its Big Sandy Lithium Project located in Arizona, as it secures a permit of exploration (POE) from the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM). This green light from the BLM paves the way for the company to initiate a comprehensive drilling and bulk sampling program at the project site, which is slated to kick off in July 2024. The drilling program, aimed at resource expansion, will be overseen by Navajo Transitional Energy Company (NTEC) as per the mining services agreement inked earlier this year. It encompasses 131 drill holes and a bulk sample, targeting the augmentation of the current lithium resource.

The Big Sandy Lithium Project, managed by Arizona Lithium, has only seen a mere 4% of its total area drilled thus far, indicating substantial untapped potential for resource expansion. The forthcoming drilling initiative is meticulously designed to scrutinize the validity of the exploration target set forth. Expressing his elation at securing the BLM approval, Paul Lloyd, Managing Director of Arizona Lithium, remarked, “We are extremely pleased to have received approval from the Bureau of Land Management for the long-awaited follow-up drill program at Big Sandy in Arizona. This represents a substantial development opportunity for a deposit that presently contains a JORC resource of 320,800 tonnes LCE. With only 4% of the project drilled to date, we are looking to expand the existing resource and validate the exploration target. We look forward to working with BLM, NTEC, and all stakeholders to ensure the drilling program is successfully executed with minimum environmental impact.”

Situated east of interstate I93 between Phoenix and Las Vegas, the Big Sandy Lithium Project boasts a flat-lying, sedimentary-hosted lithium resource. Spanning approximately 25km², the project comprises 300 BLM claims. This pivotal development underscores Arizona Lithium’s commitment to advancing its lithium exploration endeavors and underscores the immense potential of the Big Sandy Lithium Project in contributing to the global lithium supply chain.

Arizona Lithium Ltd. is a lithium exploration and development firm headquartered in Perth, Western Australia. Trading on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) under the symbol AZL, the company is actively engaged in the exploration and development of its primary projects: the Big Sandy project in Arizona, USA, and the Prairie Lithium project in Saskatchewan, Canada. Additionally, the company holds BLM claims for exploration near Lordsburg, New Mexico, USA. Arizona Lithium operates its main office and Lithium Research Center (LRC) in North America from Tempe, Arizona, complemented by a field office in Saskatchewan.
