The prices of Amlodipine Besylate experienced a significant downturn globally in November 2024, marking a shift from the upward trend observed in the prior month. The primary factor behind this decline is reduced demand for Amlodipine Besylate from the pharmaceutical sectors, which has curtailed purchasing activity. This drop in demand, combined with ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, has fostered a cautious market atmosphere, discouraging participants from placing substantial orders. Furthermore, surplus inventory from earlier periods has created an oversupply, compelling sellers to lower Amlodipine Besylate prices to clear stock and maintain competitiveness.

A significant factor contributing to the decline in Amlodipine Besylate prices is the improved production capacity. According to data from China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the country’s manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 50.3 in November from 50.1 in October, signaling steady growth in the manufacturing sector. As a leading exporter of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), China’s increased manufacturing output has created an oversupply in the market, surpassing global demand and driving Amlodipine Besylate prices downward worldwide.

In Europe, worsening economic conditions have also contributed to the decline in Amlodipine Besylate prices. Germany's economic downturn intensified in November, with business activity contracting for the fifth consecutive month at its fastest rate since February. This challenging economic climate, coupled with persistent high inflation across the Eurozone, has dampened consumer confidence. According to Eurostat, consumer price inflation in the 20 euro-using countries rose to 2.3% in November, up from 2.0% in October, exceeding the European Central Bank’s target of 2%. This inflationary pressure, along with the expectation of a cautious approach to interest rate cuts by the European Central Bank, has restrained consumer spending, leading to reduced demand for Amlodipine Besylate.

In the United States, the resolution of the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) strike, which had disrupted operations at key ports along the East Coast and Gulf regions, has significantly improved shipping activities. With ports now operating at full capacity, shipping delays have been alleviated, and freight costs have decreased. This normalization has increased the availability of imported Amlodipine Besylate, contributing to the downward pressure on prices.

According to ChemAnalyst, Amlodipine Besylate prices are expected to decline further due to sustained weak demand from end-user sectors. Global economic uncertainties continue to prompt cautious spending behavior among consumers, suppressing demand for the product. As businesses and consumers adjust to these challenging economic conditions, this cautious sentiment is likely to maintain the softness in Amlodipine Besylate prices in the near term.
