Accelera™, a zero-emissions division of Cummins Inc., has introduced the latest iterations of its innovative decarbonization technologies, which are driving the evolution of eco-friendly transportation. At this year’s Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo in Las Vegas on May 20, Accelera unveiled upgraded versions of its hydrogen fuel cell engines, a high-efficiency eAxle, and its next-generation batteries, marking significant advancements in clean transportation solutions.

"Achieving a more sustainable future is at the forefront of Accelera's mission, and I'm thrilled to mark the debut of our latest zero-emissions fuel cell, eAxle, and battery offerings," stated Amy Davis, President of Accelera. "By prioritizing innovation, conducting real-world field testing, and collaborating closely with customers and partners to customize solutions, we consistently enhance our next-generation technologies, thereby expediting adoption and the transition to zero-emission transportation."

Accelera's newest fuel cell technology powers the recently unveiled FCE300 and FCE150 fuel cell engines. These engines boast enhanced power density for larger systems, improved overall efficiency, and advanced durability. With a modular architecture, they facilitate easy configurations to suit various applications and layouts, simplifying integration for both on- and off-highway mobile and stationary uses.

Accelera will showcase its 300kW fuel cell engine at the ACT Expo, alongside a Navistar RH International Class 8 heavy-duty truck outfitted with two rail-mounted FCE150 engines and Accelera's latest eAxle. This demonstration of clean-power configuration underscores the connectivity and adaptability of Accelera's product range.

Boasting enhanced energy efficiency, the latest 14Xe from Accelera represents the brand's newest and most adaptable eAxle offering. With options including a 3-speed twin-countershaft or a 2-speed planetary transmission, the 14Xe is engineered to meet rising demands for torque, power, and battery voltage. Additionally, the redesigned 14Xe reduces reliance on wheel-end reductions, offering customers a more versatile solution.

Featuring an advanced electric drivetrain prioritizing functional safety and cybersecurity, the 14Xe comes equipped with Accelera’s ELFA 3 V3.2, a high-power inverter. Ideal for heavy-duty 6x4 setups in tandem or as a single option for medium-duty and school bus applications, the 14Xe offers enhanced performance and reliability.

Accelera introduces its latest and most versatile battery platform, the BP104E. This next-generation lithium iron phosphate (LFP) platform is exceptionally modular, effortlessly accommodating diverse customer requirements while delivering exceptional longevity and rapid charging capabilities.

Boasting a rated energy capacity of 104kWh and a maximum voltage range of 830V, the BP104E is designed to set new benchmarks in energy storage. It offers unmatched performance, reliability, and safety, catering to the evolving needs of the transportation industry. Additionally, its next-generation LFP chemistry and cell-to-pack architecture enhance energy density and cost competitiveness. Volume production of this battery, featuring locally manufactured cells in the U.S., is scheduled for 2027.

Accelera's latest offerings complement its extensive lineup of innovative zero-emissions solutions, covering the entire spectrum of hydrogen and electrification technologies. Featured at the ACT Expo are the BP97E nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery pack, the BP107E LFP battery pack, and the 1 CS2002 high-powered, remote-mount, direct-drive traction motor. With many of these products designed for easy integration into existing commercial vehicles or compatibility with other Accelera offerings, customers can seamlessly transition to lower- or zero-carbon applications.
