Thailand: The representatives of Mitsubishi Thailand, Chiyoda Corporation, and Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Asia Zero Emissions Community (AZEC) Ministerial Meeting held in Tokyo on 4 March. This MoU promises to strengthen the existing collaboration between the three entities in order to tackle climate change-related issues.
Via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on 4 March at the Asia Zero Emissions Community (AZEC) Ministerial Meeting in Tokyo, Mitsubishi Corporation, Mitsubishi Thailand Co., Ltd., Chiyoda Corporation, and Electricity Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT) have agreed to cooperate on decarbonisation projects. The MoU stipulates that the organizations will study ways to set up supply chains for production, storage, transport, and usage of clean Hydrogen and Ammonia derived from renewable energy sources in southern Thailand. These resources can then be supplied to both domestic and international markets.
As a key country in the Japanese government’s AZEC concept, Thailand is expected to further accelerate its drive to becoming carbon neutral, and with the help of the MoU, MOL and its partners will now develop safe and efficient methods for transporting Hydrogen and Ammonia.

As part of its ambitious "MOL Group Environmental Vision 2.1", MOL will collaborate with EGAT, Mitsubishi Thailand, and Chiyoda to study safe and efficient means of transporting Hydrogen and Ammonia - two resources essential for creating a secure supply chain for clean energy production in the region.
On January 2023, MOL’s CEO Takeshi Hashimoto announced the company's plans to continue its energy transport operations from Russia - specifically focusing on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) - into the indefinite future.
