Royal DSM, a Dutch chemical manufacturer acquired the engineering plastics business of SRF Limited, a leading domestic specialty chemical manufacturing company. The deal has an estimated value of INR 3.2 Billion and is expected to close in the last quarter of FY2020 subject to customary closing conditions. With this acquisition, DSM is eyeing to garner a higher market share due to increasing domestic demand in India by embanking on the existing facilities of the partner company. SRF would also benefit from the technological expertise that the global partner would bring into the partnership.
