China's GCL, Shell sign preliminary deal on LNG trading joint venture

GCL Oil & Natural Gas Co Ltd, a private energy and power firm and Royal Dutch Shell have entered into an agreement to explore setting up a joint venture based in eastern China to market aimed at trading liquefied natural gas (LNG). China is the world’s second largest LNG importer. The proposed JV would enable China to obtain LNG supplies from Shell and sell the fuel to a receiving terminal which GCL is planning in Jiangsu province.
