Andhra Sugars Limited is a renowned name in the production of Caustic Soda in India. The current installed capacity for caustic soda is around 436 tonnes per day. Owing to the propelling demand for caustic soda, Andhra Sugars Limited announced its plant expansion in Saggonda chemical complex, from 436tpd to around 600tpd and has outsourced the project to Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions (India) Private Limited, a subsidiary of Thyssenkrup.

Thyssenkrupp is an Indian Engineering Company setup in Mumbai and Pune, which mainly focusses on the design and construction of chemicals plants and allied industries. Thyssenkrupp is thus aiming to provide Andhra Sugars with engineering and proprietary services for expanding their production capacity in two phases. Moreover, Thyssenkrupp Uhde Chlorine Engineers, a global supplier of comprehensive solutions and innovative technologies will provide this expansion project with Generation VI of Membrane Cell Technology.

The foundation of trust between the two companies has made Andhra Sugars to again approach Thyssenkrupp for enhancing other membrane cell elements in Caustic Soda plant.
